Horizon Walker

(PRESTIGE CLASS)
Those whose wanderlust drives them to push the boundary of safe environments sometimes seek the calling of the horizon walker. Horizon walkers are masters of travel, always seeking to find the safe ways through inhospitable terrain. They are comfortable in places others speak of only in hushed whispers, and they can both venture forth onto untrod paths themselves and guide the less-traveled through such hazardous lands.

Though rangers are most likely to be attracted to the ever-wandering life common to horizon walkers, barbarians, fighters, and rogues have also been known to find it appealing. Horizon walkers are most common in areas on the edge of civilization, where they can easily spend time away from the known and boring streets of settled lands.

Hit Die: d8.
Proficiencies: Horizon walkers gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor.
Skill Points: 4 + Int Modifier.
Primary Saving throw(s): fortitude.
Base Attack Bonus: +1/level.

REQUIREMENTS:

Skills: Lore 8 ranks.
Feats: Great Fortitude
Special: a book of Horizon Walker is required to unlock the class.

TERRAIN MASTERY

Aquatic (sea, underwater, sea caves) - Water Breathing ( Immunity to drown )
Desert (sand and wasteland) - immunity blindness
Forest - immunity entanglement
Jungle - immunity poison
Mountains (including hills) - damage reduction 3/-
Plains - +2 AC natural bonus
Ruins (ruins, crypts, catacombs) - permanent Death magic immunity
Swamp - immunity paralysis
Underground (caves, dungeons, underdark) - blind-fight feat
Urban (buildings, streets, and sewers) - +3 bonus to open lock, disable trap and search skills
Abyssal (fiery and evil-aligned planes) - fire 50% immunity
Celestial (heaven and good-aligned planes) - regeneration +2
Cold (ice, glaciers, snow, and tundra) - cold 50% immunity
Ethereal plane - greater sanctuary 1x day
Shadow plane - improved invisibility 1x day

Epic Horizon Walker

Hit Die: d8

Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 4 + Int modifier

Favored Terrain: Bonus to hit and damage improves by 1 at levels 11, 16, 21 and 26

The horizon walker doesn’t gain additional favored terrain or terrain mastery, but he can choose one instead of epic bonus feat.

Bonus Feats: The epic horizon walker gains a bonus feat (selected from the list of epic horizon walker feats) every 4 levels after 10th.

Epic Horizon Walker Bonus Feats List:
Armor Skin, Blinding Speed, Energy Resistance, Epic Prowess, Epic Reputation, Epic Skill Focus, Epic Toughness, Perfect Health.
