 I don't recommend to use shield. Even that 5% arcane failure is too much and happens way too often. With maxed wisdom and Monk AC, the difference is just 1 AC in favor of small shield. Of course maxing +18 wisdom isn't easy. But even without that, the AC should be high enough for anything you encounter in targeted dungeons with Divine Shield active.
